Green
Drinks International
Every month people who work in the environmental field meet up at
informal sessions known as Green Drinks.
We have a lively mixture of people from NGOs, academia, government and
business. Come along and you'll be made welcome. Just say, "are you green?"
and we will look after you and introduce you to whoever is there. It's a
great way of catching up with people you know and also for making new
contacts
GreenSTAT is a system that gives local residents the opportunity to comment on the quality of their open spaces and how well they feel they are being managed and maintained. It allows site managers to compare the results with others up and down the country to give a truly national voice of what we think about our open spaces.

and the public's right to enjoy them.
If you know of a blocked public path or encroachment on common land, or you
want to register a 'new' green, we can help you, once you have joined the
society.
Ramblers At the heart of walking. Rights of way.
We protect and enhance England and Wales' rights of way network so that the
public has plenty of inspiring, convenient and safe opportunities to take a
walk. Our priorities are informed by the Ramblers' Rights of Way Strategy,
and our work is delivered by a small team of staff based in offices in
London and Cardiff, together with around 3,000 volunteers
Ramblers At the heart of walking. High Court Judge rules to save
Oxfordshire footpath
Ramblers scored a landmark legal victory last week (Feb 2010) as the High
Court ordered Somerset millionaire Brian Herrick to remove 8ft iron gates
erected across a public footpath on his £3.8-million Barcroft Hall estate at
South Petherton, near Yeovil
In the judgment of High Court Justice Cranston: "[T]he public is entitled to
use and to enjoy everything which is in law part of a footpath ... the
Barcroft Hall gateway prevented public passage and the enjoyment of amenity
rights over [the] footpath."
Re~Cycle - Relieving Poverty by Taking Bikes to New Territories. Re~Cycle's mission is to collect second-hand bicycles and ship them to Africa.
