This ride of 6 cyclists from Spokes, Harrow and Brent LCC cyclist groups started out from Bushey station on a 25 mile ride out along NCN 6.
The weather was chilly but at least it stayed dry. It was an eventful start to say the least-The start point happened to be the scene of a major police operation following a local incident which caused the mixed group to be surrounded by police cars and a paramedic-It was certainly an arresting sight!!!
To the sound of screeching sirens and negotiating some heavy traffic and some wandering supermarket trolleys we ventured out along the Ebury way and the Colne Valley cycle path. Our route took us mainly along NCN 6 via Bricket Wood and Chiswell Green although we found the sign-posting was sometimes obscure around St Albans. A pleasant lunch was enjoyed at Merchant's Tea and Coffee House in St Albans before we followed Route 6 signs towards for Harpenden to the edge of St.Albans and then retraced our route back via the A405 to arrive in Garston by 3pm
