A great start to this autumnal
day when the clocks went back. 3 cyclists joined
Alan following his 3 year absence from ride
leadership. Starting off with a route parallel to
the A41 soon ended with a northerly turn through
tree-lined paths and into more open fields. Using
the Ver-Colne Valley Walk the group sailed past Moor
Mill and headed around the East side of St.Albans
through Sandridge to country lanes around
Wheathampsted. The temporary loss of one of the
group due to a cheese sandwich passion helped the
group to reconvene and head fast to a medieval barn
for some ale, meat and veg in the centre of
St.Albans. Avoiding the hilly parts of the City took
us back to the east and along more quiet lanes to
reach the Garston start point shortly before dark
having covered about 26 miles.
