"The magnificent seven" rode out to the
villages around Whipsnade on Halloween.
We were all expecting heavy rain but thankfully the weather
had cleared before we set off from Top golf.
Our route took us along NCN 6 through Bricket Wood and up to
Chiswell Green and then on to Potters Crouch (recently
explored on the 18th October ride). We then made our way up
Westwick Row and Cherry Tree Lane to Holtsmere End before
making the steep descent into Trowley Bottom. Our knees and
calf muscles groaned as we made steep ascents up many hills
including Wood End lane and later Lynch Hill. Lunchtime
respite was to be found at the Bell Inn in Studham before we
made our way back along Gaddesden Row and Gaddesden Lane to
Watford.
