Meet at Kings Langley Station for a medium-paced ride to St Albans via country lanes and the scenic (and mostly traffic-free) Gorehambury Estate. Contact Diane.
Meet at the Harvester, Baldwins Lane, Croxley Green for a 23 mile ride via Belsize, Flaunden and Felden returning along the canal tow-path after a pub lunch. Contact Dennis.
If you like candles and stylish bars this is the place for a drink for you. Seafood, vegetarian and cheese salver dishes are available if you would like to eat, or just the usual bar drinks are available. This is just the place to meet other Spokes members especially if you have never been on a ride before. Please contact Alison or just turn up if you would like to come.
Meet at Watford Metropolitan Station for a ride out into the Chilterns via Belsize, Flaunden, Ley Hill and Cholesbury. Pub lunch at Swan Bottom before returning via Ballinger Common, Chesham and Sarratt. Not much off road, but a fair number of hills, some of them quite steep. About 40 miles. Contact Pam.
Meet at Watford High Street Station for a potter up the cycle lanes and bridle paths to Moor Mill and London Colney. Pub stop? Contact Dennis.
Meet at Watford Bandstand next to Watford Central Library for a brisk 18 mile ride on lanes, canal towpath and bridleways. Could be muddy in places. Optional pub stop in Hunton Bridge on return.

Meet at Watford High Street Station for a ride via the Ebury Way and Aquadrome to Stockers Lock, canal towpath to Springwell Lane, cycle path to Maple Cross then service road and Tilehouse Lane to Denham, about 20 miles. Mostly flat on roads or cycle paths.

Meet at Watford Metropolitan Station for a wander through the woods and along tracks and roads in my favourite cycling area. Pub stop? Contact Dennis.
Meet at Watford High Street Station for a ride via Aldenham to Elstree Aerodrome, then through Battlers Green to Radlett and return via Colne Valley path or if too muddy past Moor Mill and via Bricket Wood, about 20 miles. Only a couple of hills and mostly on cycle paths or roads. Contact Alan B.
Meet at Bushey Station. Travel to Euston by train before heading across Central London and the Embankment to enjoy cycling on roads closed to traffic but open for the prestigious London Marathon. Great chance to see your friends and neighbours running for charities. This will be an inspirational event.
If interested in this ride it will be necessary to call David T in advance (preferably by 20 April).

Notice is hereby given that the Annual General Meeting of SPOKES South West Herts Cycling Group will take place on Tuesday 24th April 2007 at The Newton Price Centre Grosvenor Road, WATFORD, Herts. WD17 2QT. Doors are open 7.45pm for an 8.00pm start. Refreshments available. Talk by Phil Rowe from Cycling Future on cycling and cycling issues. There are several vacant positions on the committee, so if you have any nominations or other resolutions, please contact Roger.

Meet at the Rickmansworth end of the Ebury Way by Travis Perkins for a 45-mile cycle ride along tracks & roads using National Routes 61 & 4. Slight variation on last year’s ride via the Colne Valley route to Uxbridge, then on to the R. Thames and Jubilee River, carrying on to Burnham Beeches & back via the Chalfonts. Bring a packed lunch to eat by the Thames, then call in for a drink at a pub late afternoon. Back to Rickmansworth around 6.30pm. Roger.
Meet at Kings Langley station. Walking day on the Chiltern Hills around Chipperfield and Chenies. Approx 16 miles with pub lunch around Chipperfield and finishing at Cassiobury Park. Good walking boots recommended. This is a St. Luke’s Hospice of Harrow event with £2 donation required. Further details David.
Meet at the Cha Cha Cha
café in Cassiobury Park at 2.00pm for a short ride to see the spring buds and
trees. There will be a stop at a pub in Hunton Bridge for refreshments and then
back through the woods to the park.

Meet at 10.10 am at Watford Junction Station. We will catch the 10.25am to Tring then ride back via Aldbury May Fair, the Ashridge estate and Gaddesden Row for a pub lunch. Wait to get your train ticket together as we may be able to get a group discount. Option of meeting at Tring station at 10.45am. Mostly on-road, some hills, moderate pace, about 25 miles. Meet other Spokes members for a drink at this historic hunting lodge, now a curry house. On Hunton Bridge Hill next to the railway bridge. We’ll be somewhere near the huge fireplace! Contact Diane & Nick.
Meet at Watford High Street Station for a 20 mile ride along the Ebury way and round the Aquadrome to the Colne Valley Trail. Contact Dennis.
Meet at Tring Station (10.25 or 10.41 trains from Watford Junction) for a ride back to Watford through the scenic Chilterns. Probably via Wigginton and giving Chesham a miss. Pub stop, moderately strenuous, easy paced. About 23 miles. Contact Phil.
Meet at Croxley Green Station for an easy ride along the Ebury Way, canal, Aquadrome & West Hyde. Return to Croxley between 9 & 9.30 pm. Contact Roger.
The FA cup final is now
expected to take place at Wembley & here is a chance to see the finalisation of
all the building works and hope for the offer of a free ticket or two. Meet at
Watford Metropolitan Station. Great chance to enjoy local cycle paths and some
of the tranquillity of the Grand Union Canal before stopping for lunch at a nice
pub with an option to stay for the Cup Final before returning home. About 28
miles.
